This took me maybe 5-10 minutes to install. It was straightforward and easy. There's a cable underneath the floor in the back of my '02 Subaru Outback that lifted up, I plugged in the cable and ran the wire through a rubber grommet in the floor under the spare tire. Simple, cheap, done.

Tested it out, worked perfectly, left it plugged into the subaru. Tested it again 2 weeks later, running lights wouldn't come on anymore unless the convertor box was squeezed. Squeezing the box again or bouncing it around to simulate rough roads would make the running lights go off again. Another guy on a subaru forum said his trailer taillights also quit working after using the connector only 5 times.
